I have submitted 3 posts in the past 24 or so hours and none of them have posted...how can I use this as a platform to keep the public informed if we can't post or read what others post?

Thank you for freeing my posts from purgatory. I had almost given up on them.

The next board meeting will be on Tuesday October 13 at 6pm. The meetings are now held in the old SSMS cafeteria. Maybe I should say in the 29th Street Elementary cafeteria?
I would expect alot of discussion about the current financial situation we are in and what our options could be. Expect to hear news about the potential to close additional buildings and perhaps even re-configure the ones that remain open. Please come with an open mind and understand that none of us WANT to close any school for any reason, however, financially there are some very difficult decisions that must be made. The best way to get to the cafeteria is to park in the Payless parking lot (if all the spaces behind the building are full, and they usually are) and enter through the doors on the south east end of the building. Not the east-most doors, but the second set...you will see a note on the door to enter for the board meeting. The cafeteria is just down the hall to the left and on the right hand side, very close to those doors. (there are few restrooms convenient to the meeting room, so make preparations ahead of time... Honestly, I don't think that anyone will be happy with the news.

On the upside, my daughter is really enjoying her new teacher this year. The teacher is new to my daughter's school and has turned out to be a fantastic teacher. I spent all day in the cl*** room yesterday ***isting and had an absolutely wonderful time. Tomorrow I will be there most of the day again. It will be my wife and I's second appearance with supplementary science material that is related to their reading topics. A couple weeks ago it was a newly acquired leopard gecko while they were studying desert environments and this time it will be a sheep brain, heart, and kidney, courtesy of my wife's anatomy and physiology cl***. Should make for a great day!

Tobi,
Thank you for keeping us updated. I also believe the key word is Open Minded. People don't care what you have to say, until they know you care! |

...but when can we expect some viable open mindedness about how this community can raise its terrible ISTEP scores?

OWO, we are working on it. There was a pretty good jump in ISTEP overall last year. This ship will take time to turn around, but work is being done.

I thought about pointing out that those organs are all consumed as food too. I decided against it though The sword of Justice has no knife holder thingy.... |

They are not consumed as food by me.

Me either, find some old schoolers from the depression era or real farmers and you have folks who eat that sort of stuff...

My father-in-law ate brains, called it scrambled meat.
