I disagree with some of what he said, and some of what he said was simply not true.

However, if the tea parties had actually been about this, instead of poster of Obama/Hitler, and birthers all running around, then it might have meant something.

If these people had protested during eight years of a republican president, and 6 years of a republican majority, perhaps this could be taken seriously as something not just a partisan stunt.

If this type of uprising pointed out the unread p***age of the nastiest bill to take away personal freedom and civil rights since the Alien/Sedition acts, the Patriot Act, then perhaps I could believe this person was not just some partisan hack disliking Obama and democrats in general.

But they didn't. They did nothing for eight years. Nothing at all. Nothing while our country got us into TWO wars at one time. Nothing while it spent us into debt in Iraq by allowing its Vice President and other high ranking officials to award no bid contracts that never end to their buddies and large corporate interests.

They said nothing when the spending was for war against a nation that didn't attack us. They said nothing while a Repulican congress and a democratic president signed NAFTA, GATT, and CAFTA. Nothing until it was a democratic majority in congress and the presidency.

Nothing while federal officials and lawyers were fired for not marching in step with the president, nothing while CIA officials were asked to break the very Geneva convention laws we wrote! Nothing while people who, in many cases were LEGAL residents, got shipped off to secret prisons and secret bases and never charged with a crime. Nothing while Habeus Corpus was revoked for "non-citizens" all the while KNOWING that the only way one could prove they were a citizen in the first place was through the writ of Habeus Corpus. Nothing while a bi-partisan congress signed, sealed, and delivered a FISA atrocity that legal allows you to be spied on via simple allegation, with no proof to back it up, and no warrant required.

Nothing was done. No protest, nothing. Until a democratic majority. And is there any doubt that if a republican were president, none of this would have been protested? If a republican spent us into debt for our children, there would be no protests? No, there wouldn't. Because every president, including Reagan, has increased the national Debt by leaps and bounds as well.

And the tea party protesters said nothing. They remained silent. As long as it was a republican in office, they were quiet. And if Obama doesn't win a second term, they will remain silent again. Because none of this outrage has anything to do with reality other than the simple fact that they all hate democrats.

If it was really about spending and accountability, there would have been outrage despite the party in power. But there wasn't.

I think a lot of the protesting was caused when the first stimulis bill was p***ed and many of our congresspersons and senators admitted they did not read it. I cannot ever remember that happening before. If important bills were p***es without being read no one admitted it. It seemed to me to be completely irresponsible. I voted for people I thought would protect my and my countries interests and they did not do what they were elected to do.
