I really hope the prosecutors office hasn't s c rewed this case up. That is unbelievable enough but what is WAY more unbelievable is Ollie's responses... It wasn't HIS responsibility to find the gun...what the heck? He should have KNOWN he was packing! His complete removal of self responsibility is completely unacceptable. Then, to say he felt discriminated against....really....is it discrimination when the law is followed? He was charged, placed before a grand jury who decided he should stand trial. I am going to need to someone to explain to me the discrimination factor in there cause that seems like the same process anyone would go through.... I think what he meant was that he wasn't treated like he was above the law like he thinks his position as a city council member is supposed to buy him. If there is a person's service Anderson would be better off without it is Ollie. The sword of Justice has no knife holder thingy.... |

Right after his arrest he was quoted in THB as saying he didn't feel like he was drunk. Then when he discovered he was in real trouble he blames it on being too drunk. Which one is it Ollie ????? It can't be both. It appeared to me to be a slam dunk case for the prosecutors.

“I wasn’t really intoxicated,” Dixon, D-District 4, said Sunday evening. “If a person is suspected (of driving while intoxicated) they normally take them into custody. I don’t feel I was intoxicated. To me, the officer was just doing his job. I don’t have a problem.”

“That’s great,” Dixon said Thursday. “It shows then that I did not hide anything. I was intoxicated and had no idea where I was at or what I had on me.”

Same old same old for Spencer and Madison County. In 2003 Spencer moved to protect Terri Austin's sons when they planted bombs around another ****ent's house and Spencer got in and out of hot water for it. Austin's boys got off with an apology. Now he's protecting Dixon. Nothing new here. We need to clean house next election and move most of the current incumbents back to private life.

We expected Ollie Dixon would walk. We just didn't know when his case would be dismissed or by whom.
Dixon playing the race card also came as no surprise. It is a reflection, or rather a "projection," of his character. Through "psychological projection," he unconsciously denies his own actions & attributes, instead pointing fingers at a vast right-wing conspiracy... A conspiracy that managed to intoxicate him, incarcerate him, and indict him on a gun charge. In other words, Ollie blames others for his follies... "Ollie's Follies" kinda has a ring to it! Ollie, if you want to use that slogan in your re-election campaign, let's talk. |

I see all the posts above, and there is not one single mention of the failure to locate the gun after four -- repeat, four -- supposed searches.
I think that there is a lot of responsibility that should be spread around in the Dixon gun-in-his-cell matter... |

I agree that something more than just additional training should have been done and maybe it was. Who knows if the officers didn't get a reprimand or something put in their files. I would also like to know if it isn't SOP to ask someone if they have any weapons, hand grenades or nukes on them when they are placed under arrest, and if it is, did they ask him. I watched the booking video and it amazes me that the one officer did'nt feel it. The weapon looked like it had an 8" barrel on it.

OldWiseOne, you're right.
I don't know if checking every orifice is jail policy? Only a STRIP SEARCH would have uncovered the deep crev***e where Dixon tucked his cold steel. What's funny is that no one told him where to stick it -- yet he stuck it. |
