Not sure where else to post this. This seems to be the most active part of the forum.

I had an opportunity to visit Anderson for the second time recently. I am continually amazed at how so many people on other message boards like to run down your city at least in terms of its physical appearance. I've seen cities in far worse shape of similar size in the northeast and midwest. Places like Holyoke and Chicopee, MA come immediately to mind.

I noted that even in the bad neighborhoods the streets of Anderson have less litter than my present home in a rural small town of 6,000 in Missouri. And Anderson has less empty buildings and store fronts than many similarly sized cities. Even the streets have less potholes than in many smaller towns. Probably the biggest negative I can see is the lack of activity in downtown Anderson after normal business hours. Even downtown Terre Haute has several businesses that are open into the evening leading to some kind of nightlife. I suspect ISU plays a role in that.

What gives with all the negative publicity concerning the appearance of Anderson? I can't speak about the politics or business climate but certainly the physical appearance of your city is not nearly as bad as some people make it out to be.

Don't let the opinions of fifty negative people influence the positive impression of Anderson that you have.

Don’t believe everything you think.
