When is Madison County going to p*** a NON-SMOKING ordinance?
Marion county is getting ready to p*** a non-smoking ordinance that will ban smoking in all work places. Many of the other counties and towns have already p***ed a non smoking ordinance for their areas. I would love for the State Legislature to p*** a state wide ordinance, but until they do why not p***s a county one for now. I lost both of my parents to health problems from first hand smoke and have lost many friends due to second hand smoke. The government has proven that second hand smoke kills many people every year. They have now shown that it causes heart problems also. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33.../health-heart_health http://www.wthr.com/global/vid...ne=info&rnd=24860153 As of October 2009, 24 states have enacted statewide bans on smoking in all enclosed public places, including bars and restaurants: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, M***achusetts, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin (effective July 5, 2010). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L...in_the_United_States We refuse to support any business that allows smoking. My wife has asthma and can’t tolerate the smoke and I won’t let it ruin my health either. Most of the time we leave the county to eat at restaurants that don’t allow smoking, therefore costing the county in lost taxes and the businesses in lost income. I fully understand that it should not be the government’s responsibility to regulate this problem but the businesses won’t do it on their own. Therefore I respectfully request that you p*** a NON SMOKING ordinance to protect the health of the workers and residents in Madison County. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Sue53, |

As far as I am concerned, as an ex-smoker for 20 years, I think the government should keep their nose out of a businessman's business. If he or she want the have a smoking business it's THEIR BUSINESS. These people are not standing outside the business and dragging people in. If you don't like being around smokers, say away.
